For Megan, getting dressed is a creative process she loves — from selecting the style, texture, and materials of each piece, to curating looks that allow her to feel comfortable in her own skin, and confident on every occasion.
When we designed A Second More, we thought it was only right to work with someone who shared the same values as us. The lady behind A Weekend Muse was exactly that – intentional, confident and thoughtful in everything she puts out, from her approach to fashion, home, and living. We connected with Megan over a warm cup of tea on a cosy morning to chat, laugh and set intentions going into a new year – for just a Second more.
1 / What made you start A Weekend Muse?
I started A Weekend Muse as a creative outlet to share my love for fashion, beauty, home, travels and daily musings, in hopes to discover a like-minded community. I intentionally curate a variety of items which I personally use, and hope to present my genuine self through the things I love using this platform.
2 / How would you describe your style?
My style has evolved over time and in recent years, I have found myself gravitating towards feminine, romantic yet classic silhouettes – think dresses (lots of them!), classic button down shirts, billowy skirts and straight leg pants. I like choosing pieces that are easy to pick up and style with existing favourites in my wardrobe. Effortless is key!
3 / What do your weekends look like?
I tend to take my weekends very slowly. My morning starts gently with a warm cup of tea and time for me to catch up on my reading and journaling. I’ve been taking time to style different corners of our new home to best reflect our personalities. Over the course of the week, I’ll discover local spots to explore and that helps to guide my plans for the weekend!
4 / Share with us a tidbit about one of the paintings we featured on set!
“Trees in Japan” was a piece my husband purchased while he was on a work trip in London. While exploring Chiltern Street, he chanced upon this piece which encapsulated my aesthetic, and surprised me with it when he came home. We love nature walks and hikes, especially when we’re on holiday as it allows us to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a moment, and to bask in nature’s beauty. I hope to be able to experience the charm of these trees in person one day!
The Cowl Neck Ruched Top & Crinkled Viscose Maxi Skirt are my favourite picks from this collection.
It’s an effortless look for days when I’m hosting at home, and it transitions well to an evening look for a dinner date with my husband!
